English teaching

Our school uses Chinese as the primary language of instruction. To enhance the English learning environment for students, we have implemented "English Extension Activities" in Form 1 and Form 3. The proportion of class time for "English Extension Activities" will be planned according to the Education Bureau's arrangements.

In junior high school, some subjects are divided into four parts: one part uses English as the language of instruction, and the other part extends to English-language teaching activities. These subjects include physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and science.

High school students can flexibly choose the language of instruction for some subjects, including: Mathematics (including Mathematics Extension Unit 2), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, and "Introduction to Business, Accounting and Finance". Students can choose to take the exams in their native language or English. Detailed explanations regarding the application process for changing the exam language mechanism and the arrangements for school-based tests will be provided to new high school students.

English classes account for one-fifth of the total classes at our school, and we offer a variety of supplementary and advanced courses. We also have foreign teachers who teach English and are responsible for extracurricular activities conducted in English. They even represent the school in English-related competitions outside the school, so students have many opportunities to practice their English.
